Nashville Injury Attorney Offers Suggestions for Support

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

What can surviving family do if a loved one has been catastrophically injured or killed in an accident? We asked Tennessee lawyer Chris Gilreath for this Ask the Lawyers Quick Question.

Chris Gilreath:

Number one really find out who your primary resources are, who can you lean on for comfort and support in such a really difficult moment? Is it someone with your church? Is it a family member? Is it a close friend? You're gonna need all the support you can get. The second thing is, when you reasonably can try to come to terms that you are in a situation and there's some information you want to collect, just to make sense what's going on, because a month from now, you may need that information and not have it, and so sometimes even someone like a lawyer can help you make sense of that situation, and so it helps to have someone on your side to help organize and manage those details so that you can actually go through the emotional process of dealing with your situation.
