Rob Rosenthal:

Do you know the circumstances where you could appeal a divorce in Texas? We asked Austin lawyer Jimmy Vaught for this Ask The Lawyers Quick Question.

Jimmy Vaught: Virtually any case. Let's say a divorce decree or a child custody order, virtually all of those can be appealed to the court of appeals for example. However, family law appeals are somewhat difficult, particularly when there's children involved, the courts actually have to show an abuse in discretion by the county court judge and the county court judges do have a lot of discretion, concerning children and division of property.
