SLC Accident Attorney Says TBIs Often Undetected, Untreated

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

Are brain injuries always diagnosed at the hospital after a car or truck accident? Let's ask Utah lawyer Kevin Swenson for this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.

Kevin Swenson:

Brain injuries are frequently not diagnosed initially or quickly, and often when they are diagnosed, that's all that's done with them is a diagnosis. So you may see on the emergency room report “concussion”, and then it doesn't give any recommendations as to what to do or how to follow up with that. So sometimes they're diagnosed and sometimes they're not, but they're seldom treated.
