This video features Christy Childers, a Personal Injury attorney based in Georgia.
Rob Rosenthal:
Why should you speak to a lawyer after a wreck, when you can make an insurance claim yourself to avoid attorney's fees? Well, let's ask Georgia lawyer, Christy Childers, for this Ask The Lawyers Quick Question.
Christy Childers:
We don't charge a fee, a lot of lawyers, most lawyers who do what I do, don't charge a fee upfront and so there's no downside to talking to a lawyer first. It doesn't mean that you're gonna end up hiring them, but in a lot of cases, it's very important for you to get legal representation right from the beginning because these insurance companies have in-house attorneys who are on the case, especially in tractor trailer crashes. In semi truck wrecks, which is the majority of what I do, they are on the scene that very night, whereas my clients a lot of times are either in the hospital healing for a very long time, or if they lose a loved one, they're dealing with funerals, and so I'm always behind when it comes to a semi truck wreck. And so every day that you spend thinking should I call a lawyer? Is another day that you're behind the tractor trailer companies who have already been there, probably the night of with the driver who caused the wreck.
