Phoenix Attorney Explains Legal Options

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

If you're a passenger in a car that's in an accident, what are your options for making a claim? We ask Arizona attorney Tim Tonkin for this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.

Tim Tonkin:

Passengers, obviously, 99.999% of the time are not a fault for collisions. So it is important that they make claims and that we evaluate how to get fair and full compensation for them by making multiple claims against multiple people. Also, perhaps, multiple claims against multiple insurance policies that should cover them, because the passenger may have access to the insurance of the vehicle that they were in, and also their own insurance if they own a car that has coverage on it, including uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. They could tap into those policies as well, even though they weren't in their car or near their car.
