When employers fail to provide adequate training to their employees, it can result in severe consequences for not only the employees themselves but anyone working around them. This is why employers must be held accountable to do everything in their power to ensure a safe environment for the employees they are responsible for, and injured parties should be compensated appropriately.

After a workplace accident in an airport caused a traumatic brain injury, the injured airport worker received a $2.7 million settlement. He was represented by Pius Joseph, an injury attorney with Law Offices of Pius Joseph in Pasadena, California. Joseph has over 30 years of experience helping injured victims throughout California.

If you were injured at work, you may be eligible for compensation.

In situations where workers’ compensation is not applicable or insufficient to cover the damages of an injured employee, and when a company acts with dangerous negligence resulting in a workplace accident and injuries, the injured employee may file a personal injury claim against their employer. When an aviation mechanic sustained a brain injury as well as orthopedic injuries at work due to a co-worker’s irresponsible behavior and an oversight of the company in the form of failing to provide proper training to that employee, Joseph represented him and was able to recover an impressive compensation to cover the man’s damages.

Employers are responsible for providing and requiring adequate training to ensure the safety of their employees.

Many employers may overlook the necessity of providing and requiring quality training programs to their employees. These training programs can be costly and time-consuming for a company, but are necessary to ensure a safe environment for all employees. When an employer fails to prioritize adequate training and an employee behaves negligently or injures another employee as a result, the company may be held liable for damages incurred in a workplace accident. It is essential that negligent employers be held accountable when their oversights create dangerous situations for their employees. Allowing an untrained employee to operate a potentially dangerous piece of equipment is highly negligent and can result in severe and life-altering consequences for any unfortunate victims who happen to be in the vicinity.

A settlement of nearly $3 million has been secured for an aviation mechanic who was injured by doing his job. The Pasadena-based Law Offices of Pius Joseph acquired the $2.7 million settlement after their client was struck by a loaded luggage tug, leaving him with a mild traumatic brain injury as well as orthopedic injuries.

The tug was operated by an airport contractor employee who allegedly violated FAA and airport rules by driving into the circle of safety and under the jet bridge. The victim says the driver did not have the mandatory training to drive on airport grounds and was driving with excessive speed when he lost control of the tug and struck the victim and another mechanic. Attorney Pius Joseph says this case is an example of how important it is for employers to make sure their workers are properly trained.

He says: “It is imperative that employers be held accountable to provide their workers with adequate training to ensure a safe working environment for everyone evolved.”

He goes on to say: “We are very glad we were able to represent and recover for this man, so he could be compensated for the injuries and pain he has had to go through as a result of another party’s negligence.” Attorney Pius Joseph is a third-generation lawyer who has represented individuals and businesses for more than 30 years, particularly in the area of catastrophic injuries.
