Injury Lawyer Explains When to File a Hernia Mesh Lawsuit

Video Transcript:

Leslie Rhode:
Can I file a hernia mesh lawsuit? We ask Mississippi attorney Merrida Coxwell in this AskTheLawyers Quick Question.

Merrida Coxwell:
As far as eligibility, that is something that we do not know until we get a client's case, look at what product was implanted in their body, look at what symptoms they're having, and then get our medical team to evaluate it based on the criteria, we have to decide whether or not we think the injuries the client has are growing out of or a part of that product, so that it's something that's very hard to tell people about. I can say if you have constant infections in your, say six months post-op, but yet you're still having constant infections, if you feel that the mesh may have rolled up or clumped up in your body, and sometimes clients can feel those things, That might be easy for us to say, "Yes, we think you have a claim," but until we get the medical records and look at the records with our experts, it's very hard to say.
