Attorney Explains Options for Defective Airbags

Video Transcript:

Leslie Rhode:
What should I do if I've been in a crash where the airbag failed to deploy? We ask Mississippi attorney Merrida Coxwell in this AskTheLawyers Quick Question.

Merrida Coxwell:
You know airbags, frontal airbags, for example, are not meant to open in every situation. It's more or less sort of a V-shaped frontal impact that is supposed to deploy those airbags, so we end up retaining an expert who goes out and looks to see if those airbags are defective, if they should have deployed, why they didn't deploy.

So it's a pretty intensive expert question, and we have experts that we regularly use, and we just have to send them out to look at the cars.
