Video Transcript:

My name's John Sloan. I was born and raised in east Texas, grew up about 30 miles south of the town I live in now.

I'm proud to say I've got two wonderful, healthy, beautiful, smart children and a lovely wife, Dee Anne, who grew up in Tyler, Texas, about 35 miles from here. I went to Baylor University, went all the way through there. Got an undergraduate degree in 1977, and then a law degree in 1980. When I got out of law school, I went back to my hometown. It was a small law firm. We did everything, was involved in all sorts of different kinds of law, and I just always was attracted to helping people who had been injured and helping them piece their lives back together.

The first real trial in the district court was a murder case after I'd been licensed about five weeks and since that time, I've tried over 100 cases to verdict, so I decided after about three years of practice to move to what I thought at the time was a big city of Longview, Texas and start my own law firm. And so that's what I did and I specialized from that point on in personal injury.
