What are the most common types of accidents on personal watercraft? We ask Miami attorney Jack Hickey for this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.

So typically, we see people who rent them from a service; one of the services you see, for example, in the keys or on the West Coast of Florida or the East Coast of Florida. There's a Florida statute which regulates these services; they're supposed to provide training. When they don't, people don't know how to handle them, and we can talk a little bit about that too. And we see collisions. We see a lot of collisions between the two—I’ll just call them jet skis for our purposes today—either we see collisions between the jet skis or collisions between a jet ski and another vessel, like a boat in the area. That's what we see.
