Truck Accident Lawyer Says Truckers are Rushed to Meet Deadlines

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

Are trucking companies pushing drivers to make unsafe driving choices? We ask Seattle area attorney J.D. Smith for this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.

J.D. Smith:

Notwithstanding COVID, we see this a lot; where drivers are not well-rested or they have timelines that they're trying to meet and they’re rushing. Then you also have a similar dynamic to truckers that we're seeing with drivers, and that's distracted drivers utilizing a phone or fidgeting with the radio or computer in the cab; so distracted driving is one of the things that we see that contributes to collisions.
